Quick Answers

How do I unlock chapters 2–13 and the full devotional?

The app is a free companion to Misty Phillip's book. Chapter 1 and the Digital Discernment Assessment are open to everyone. To unlock the remaining chapters and the 90-day devotional, confirm that you own the book during onboarding.

If you answered "No" by mistake, see the next question — you can update your answer.

I told the app I don't own the book, but I just bought it. How do I unlock the rest?

Open the More tab and confirm that you own the book. The remaining chapters and devotional will unlock immediately.

If that toggle isn't visible in your build, delete the app and reinstall, then answer "Yes" when onboarding asks about the book. Your journal entries and progress will reset on reinstall, so prefer the More tab when available.

Where can I buy the book?

The book is available on Amazon in Kindle and paperback formats. You can also buy it anywhere books are sold.

Why does tapping a verse open Bible.com?

The app uses YouVersion (maker of the Bible app and Bible.com) to render live scripture in the New International Version. When you tap a verse reference, the full passage opens on Bible.com, where you can switch translations, take notes, or save it to your reading plan.

This is intentional — YouVersion's Bible.com is the authoritative home for the scripture text, and we want to send you there rather than build a second reader inside the companion app.

Can I share my Digital Discernment Assessment results?

Yes. After completing the assessment, tap the share button on your results screen. The app will produce a share card with your tier — Digitally Unaware, Digitally Curious, Digitally Discerning, or Digital Watchman — that you can send to anyone through Messages, email, or social media.

We encourage sharing — the assessment is designed to start conversations in families and churches about digital discernment.

Are my journal entries backed up to the cloud?

No. Your devotional journal entries, reading progress, and assessment answers are stored only on your iPhone. There is no cloud sync and no account system, so there is also no risk of the data being leaked or sold. The trade-off: if you delete the app or switch to a new iPhone without iCloud device-level backup, your journal entries will not transfer.

See our Privacy Policy for full details.

The Verse of the Day isn't loading.

Verse of the Day is fetched live from YouVersion. If you're offline or on a restricted network, the verse may not appear. Connect to Wi-Fi or cellular and re-open the home tab.

If the problem persists with a working internet connection, email us — it may be a YouVersion API outage on our end.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. The initial release is iPhone-only. If there's demand, an Android version may follow.

How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?

Email Info@MistyPhillip.com with a short description. For bugs, it helps to include the iPhone model, iOS version, and app version (shown at the bottom of the About page in the More tab).
